How long does it take to walk a mile?

The reason I ask is I have to fill in a survey for ds's school about the way we get to school. I have no idea of the distance to his school and the town map is no use because it isn't very accurate (to scale). It takes me walking briskly 15 mins to get there and 25 mins walking at a (slow) child's pace.
Does that sound like a mile to you or less?

It takes me about the same time to walk to dd's pre-school, thats 3/4 mile away, if that's any use!

I think walking pace is about 4 miles an hour or something similar.
