Grrr - ordered something from Tchibo and not as described but can't get to it on website...

I ordered single duvet covers from this page

and when I ordered them the description implied that you got two sets for £23 which i thought was very good value so ordered them for ds's bunk beds. The parcel has just arrived but it only contains one set - and as the item is sold out on the website I can't click on the item description to confirm what it said...

Any advice?

I would phone them to check it may be because they have had so many orders they have got it wrong

I wonder what they will do though, GM? They can't give you another, as it's sold out, so as you wanted 2 you're a bit stuck - if they refund half the price that's a bargain though. (They are very pretty!)

Even though I save the links you found for me, they have updated the website now so it says only 1 set.... do you know of any way to find the original description again?

The item is in stock again so I am hoping to get a second set but they are resisting...

Damn! No, sorry, GM - I wish I had saved that screen, but I (stupidly) assumed the cached page would stay the same

I had a very disappointing experience with Tchibo a few months ago and steer well clear these days, even though some of their stuff is so lovely. Their customer service is crap.

Trading Standards say they should send me the second set if there is one available - they left a message to say there wasn't (even though the website says there is...)

I think I would order another set while there is availability, so you have 2, and then go after them to try to get a refund.

I tell you how you might catch the buggers out, GM - although they have carefully changed the 2s to 1s in the bottom section ("1 pillowcase approx. 51 x 76 cm each; 1 duvet cover approx. 135 x 200 cm each"), in the description it still says:

My italics. Ha! If it's only 1 sheet why does it say "sheets", hey?

And come to that, why does it say "each" about the pillowcase and duvet cover if there's only 1?

They are definitely on a sticky wicket here. I will save that page, now, before they change it again!

Yes!!! Result!

Have a look at the king-size set - it does have 2 pillowcases, and for the sizes it says "each"; but it only has one cover, and gives the size without an "each". And it says "sheet" each time, not "sheets".

I have saved that screen for future ref as well - you should too.

They are def bullshitting - they owe you another set. If they made a mistake putting 2 on originally (or pricing for 1 set when they were showing 2) they could have not taken your money, not sent you anything, and said "sorry, we made a mistake" - they are allowed to do that - but to take your money on that basis and then send you only 1 set is actually illegal.

Just saw your messages Wendy - thanks so much. Err how do I save the screen? [luddite emoticon]

I spoke to someone again yesterday and they said they have to go back to "head office" again to see what the situation is now that it is back in stock.... but they said they would "hold" an extra set for me. Apparently they can't just phone someone to ask, it has to be done via email . Will give them a day or two.... (but have spoken to Trading Standards who confirmed I am entitled to the extra set if it is available)

Well on aol there is a blue box across the top of the screen with option File on the LH side - when I click on that I get options, like with Word, of View, Print etc, and Save is in there - you can then put it anywhere you like on your C drive (I think - am total technonumpty, somebody else showed me how to do it!)

When I had my problem with Tchibo (it was a delivery which took so long to arrive it was too late by the time it did, so I returned it, and then it took weeks before the money was refunded to my card, and it was over £300 ) there was a phone number for HO somewhere on their website and I actually rang it a couple of times and spoke to a human - then that page disappeared and now you have to go via Customer Services? Anyway be prepared to nag and nag

Update (at last!)

Was about to chase them up again when I got an system-generated email on 9th May which suggested they were sending another set to me.... then I got a cheque in the post last week refunding me the delivery costs (?? as I had used a code for free delivery) and finally yesterday (!) the additional set arrived.

So it was worth the wait and the hassle I suppose...
