Worried about gas - can anyone help

Last night my little boy turned on one of the rings on our gas cooker without either of us noticing. The food we where eating was very spicy so neither us smelt gas until an hour and half later (I know I can't believe it either) when I went out to the car to get something and could smell it when I cam back in. Obviously first thought was to make sure we didn't blow house up. But today I'm worried that being exposed to the gas for over an hour could have done some long term harm to DS. He seems absolutely fine - just as normal, but I just wondered if anyone else knew more about effects of exposure to domestic gas.

Don't know too much about the effects of exposure but I had a gas leak for about 5 years (!!!!) before I eventually rang the gas board. I was told that you would need to leave all the rings of your cooker on for 3 days before the house would blow up
