Your “Waitrose Moments”………

It has been a long day today, had to deal with lots of stuff on the phone involving long waiting times hanging on listening to lift music until I actually got to speak to a person, so my brain went AWOL and I was just thinking of things that made me laugh over the years…..especially ridiculous things I have overheard and the two my mind rested on today were when my daughter was small, visiting the Doctor for routine appointments along with other parents with children the same age (fairly affluent south London area for context now moved out as too expensive for us to buy at the time) and the doctor came out clutching patient notes, looked down and called out the child’s name……

child 1 was called Gigi……
child 2 was called Willoughby…….

both cases, yes pun intended, had equally OTT surname.

sorry had to stuff tissues in my mouth, felt sorry for the poor children when they must have eventually gone to school and not sure how the Doctor kept a straight face. This was 20 years ago, anyone else had similar “Waitrose Moments” as we refer to them in our household…..btw I love Waitrose so equally interested to hear if anyone calls them something else……..lighthearted thread btw….

I don't think Gigi or Willoughby are that ridiculous?!

(Scuttles back to South London.)

As the owner of an unusual name, I love an interesting name. There are way too many samey ones out there. (And neither two you mentioned are that ‘OTT’?)

Did you genuinely shove tissues in your mouth?
