Hi there mums and dads. I wondered if anyone out there has had any trouble with Cafcass? Cafcass were appointed to me after me and ex h got divorced. He was mentally abusive to me and my children over the course of our marriage. He raped me on several occasions and caused severe trauma to our children by shouting in their faces causing them to wet themselves and live in fear of him. He's also a drug addict and severe alcoholic. Cafcass told my children in interviews that they need to build a relationship with their father and said that they and I quote "would fix him and make him better" they were forced against their will to see him with supervised visits on the bases that he did drug and alcohol testing. He never did any, the visits still went ahead and not long after ex h was granted unsupervised visits. I am shocked and appalled at the reactions from Cafcass through all of this, they twisted my children's statements and above all did not listen to my children at all and their concerns. I'm hopeful that something can be brought into parliament to put a stop to cafcass and their ways of dealing with situations and have them investigated. Maybe a long way off but I feel so strongly about this. I would like to add that I tried to lodge a complaint directly with Cafcass but got no where, surprise surprise!
