Tips for feeling lonely after a break up

Just looking for tips on how to cope with feeling lonely after a break up. Single for 3 months after my 5.5 year relationship ended.

I'm trying to keep as busy as possible- I have a busy job, I'm going to the gym a lot, arranging to see friends/family and texting them lots, using the headspace app and I've always loved reading...but as soon as it comes to just sitting and eating dinner or trying to watch TV...I'm struggling.

I feel this urge to download a dating app just to speak to a male again but I know it's too soon and is a bad idea. Also feel it would be disrespectful to my ex and would worry that he'd find out (not that I'm sure he deserves my concern!)

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you get through it?

It is not easy but time is a great healer. I split with my ex after 25 years together and it took me a long time to recover. I threw myself into my work I am not sure that was a good idea. After a couple of years I started dating again and after several attempts met someone who seemed right and we have now been married for 20 years.
