Your child's haircuts

Hello Mumsnet community.

I'm wondering if you can help me answer a few questions for me relating to getting your children's hair cut.

  1. How far would you be willing to travel by car to get your child a haircut at a salon you know they'll be comfortable in?

  2. Would you travel across town to get your child a haircut if that's the only objective of your outing? Or would you prefer to get your child's haircut as part of a trip that also includes other shopping/errands?

  3. How much approximately would you pay for your child's haircut to ensure it's decent and their experience is a positive one?

  4. How often do you take your son or daughter to get their haircut? Please specify whether you're referring to a son or daughter in each case.

Many thanks for your support.

I drive about 5 miles to go to a specialist children’s hairdresser. I go there solely for the haircut, but if it’s a weekend, we might all go and get some lunch when we’re there.

It’s £26, and we go maybe every 2 months. It’s a hairdresser only for children so they have toys, a screen for every seat, a balloon and small gift at the end, etc. Worth it for the stress free experience.
