Period due but wiped and saw this

Last 3 months I get white stringy clots but what causes it? Never had it before

I'm well through the menopause now, but when I had periods, I got this a lot! It's just your body getting rid of mucus, skin cells, blood etc. Perfectly natural, but does tend to look a bit scary when it's combined with your period! 🌸
Edited to add that our bodies change constantly. Everything you've described is normal. When it isn't, there will be other symptoms, such as odour, itching etc. Then you need to go get checked out by your GP. Hope that's settled your mind a bit 🌸
