Hello just need a little advice cause I’m literally at I don’t what to do next my toddler has had a cough for about four years he’s had quite phlegmy cough. I have taken him to the Pedi iatric and she said that there is nothing they can do and this is common in young children and it will go away as he grows up he doesn’t have a temperature however he does cough up so much he doesn’t exactly cough up the phlegm. It’s as if it’s stuck in his chest however you can hear that it is quite a phlegmy cough. It does bother him every day because playing with other children and other people may think it’s contagious however it’s not contagious as I do have a three year old and she never catches his cough because he doesn’t have any , symptoms such as temperature headaches or feeling unwell feeling pain there’s nothing the doctors can do but I am just concerned about his cough. I don’t know what to do as I haven’t really got a diagnosis for it. I was sent to Oxford hospital they did give me some tablets for allergies which I do give him at night and it did stop for about three months still gave him the tablets however the cough has come back again even with him taking the allergy tablets. I don’t know if anybody’s experience this type of thing with a toddler. I just need a little bit of advice and what I could do his nose is quite runny his breath does have a little bit of a smell to it a bit of like a sickly smell when you’re ill , he does. He does look like a bit of weight but measuring at the doctors said that he is on board with his weight as he’s getting taller that’s why he looks a lot skinny. He does cough all night and I don’t know if anybody can help me with what I could do if I should keep taking him to the doctors I just I’m happy that he doesn’t have a temperature or really severe symptoms but I don’t want to go , unseen and it does end up being something really bad. He has had an asthma pump and Green didn’t work. Took him back to the doctors but yeah, need some help. Sorry for such a long message
