hi everyone i'm a first time mum and i am really looking for some stories, recommendations and advice on taking baby swimming i'd love to hear what you the first few times you took your little one swimming as i took my 4 month old little boy today but due to my disorganisation i didn't time it very well as he had a bottle just before we left home (around a 20/25 minute drive from the pool) so by the time we got there he'd fallen asleep for his little cat nap before his bedtime routine and he woke up as we got there so wasn't very happy at the time (he was fully awake and alert before i get negative comments about this which is all i seem to receive on here) we are going to keep preserving unless he shows a disliking to it but like i say please share anything you like with me on this thread id love to hear anything you all have to say
thankyou for taking the time to read this and i look forward to reading any responses

It was very hit and miss with our 4MO, which I think is normal.

I will say we were advised not to feed too close to the swim, and then feed after because it makes them hungry (sometimes I was successful with this sometimes not)

DC is now 2.5 and I have to drag him out of the pool 😂

We've been taking our LO since he was 4 months, he's BF so we used get to the pool an hour before class starts and I fed him in the car, then again after he's dry and dressed. Now he's older he can go longer between feeds so it's much easier.

How is your baby in the bath? How much splashing/immersion gets done?

You haven't actually said what happened/whether he enjoyed any of it or protested at all of it, but your post implies he wasn't a fan!

Not overtired would be key for me. And not starving hungry.
