Anyvan removal Co. Review. Terrible experience

Horrible and awful experience
I booked Anyvan for my complex move after talking to the sales guy (Harry). We were moving from London to Liverpool with multiple drops. I did a video call with Anyvan (Harry) - I pointed out exactly what I had to move, including a lot of large pictures. Harry was proactive and got back to me very quickly. The quote should have been accurate because Anyvan had seen what I was moving.
Due to unforeseen personal circumstances (quicker completion at buyers request, death of my father and my arthritic hip packing in) I had to take the pressure off and decided to opt for the premium packing service (having packed a considerable amount of my stuff myself already). Thankfully I had. I also had a holiday booked the week before the move.
I had numerous calls with very polite phone operatives - I was given incorrect and conflicting info, incorrect pricing (overcharging me twice) and they failed to call me back as promised. Every time I called them, I had to go through the whole saga again. They kept trying to upsell. They didn’t seem to be knowledgable and apart from one lady (Lungi) didn’t actually take ownership. I suspect this is due to the set up / business model they are working under. After each interaction you’re asked for feedback. I could not fault how polite they were. Perhaps that’s how Anyvan have got so many good reviews….
In desperation, I called Anyvan (from my holiday) and asked Harry - the original sales guy to call me back. He did, he’d seen my case and apologised and promised to fix all. We changed the plan so that my house would be packed on 19 June and everything moved on 20th. Polite packers arrived on 19th, packed 30 boxes and told me they had another job to go to. I could no longer reach Harry in sales on the number he gave me and he never called me back. I spoke to Lungi. After the usual spiel she understood my situation but I did have to freak out on the phone and tell her about my father, hip etc to get her listening to me. She promised to sort out. The next day Valantino and his team arrived. They were polite, friendly, efficient and proactive. They worked tirelessly all day. The sale completed at 09.30am but we didn’t leave the house until 3.30pm. Thankfully the buyers were understanding, although keen to get in. We then drove 250miles and met the team up there. They unloaded items into container storage and at temp accommodation. They finally finished at 11.30pm. Nothing was too much trouble, they were tired but smiling at the end when they left for their drive back. Valantino and his team were great and really saved the day, along with Lungi. However, in spite of what they did, I have never had such a terrible, stressful experience in my life. Anyvan were absolutely awful. I have never had to write such a shocking review. I suggest the owner of Anyvan reads my case and does something about continuity of staff on the phone, training etc etc. I am yet to check the final bill. I will revert if that’s incorrect. Fancy paying for a premium service and receiving endless buckets of stress!
Anyvan might be good for straightforward moves but for mine they were appalling. Jo

Any van are just a broker. They exist to create artificial competition between movers and take a cut of the profit by domineering the market and selling themselves as 'convenient and online booking' when they are anything but. The good service you got was from the actual movers. Next time deal direct with movers and leave any van out of it.

Just a warning for those looking for a remover that Any Van is maybe not your best option to find a remover. I just had an appalling experience (August2024). They made a mistake and communicated different delivery dates to the chosen remover and to me… resulted in removers forcing me to pay an extra £240 for storage because I was not home the day of the delivery they had. My Job sheet, which is the contract showed clearly the agreed date but AnyVan went silent as soon as their mistake was proven. Poor poor service and clearly dishonest. Not worth using a broker, next time I ll go straight to the removers company!

I used Any Van 3rd September 2024. And I really wish I hadn't. I moved from a one bed flat ground floor to another one bed ground floor flat. Only a mile between flats. My quote was £488. They wanted me to list all items and because I didn't add a few black bags, step ladders and a large teddy bear. The removers on the day took a photo of my extra bits. Another £61. Day light robbery. Within 2 and half all done. Any Van should charge an hourly Rate. I would Not Recommend

This company must not be allowed to trade!!! I had the most traumatic removal experience with AnyVan removal company. Before I booked removal of all my items on 5/10/24
I had an hour long chat with Sadeeka and discussed in detail all of my items and sent the photos of my items to her. She quoted £1215 to have all of my items removed on 5/10/24
.
However on the day of the removal unbeknown to myself the drivers were instructed to fill only 25 boxes. When they arrived they told me that is all they going to do. So after they filled 25 small size boxes they simply left me stranded in the flat.
In despair I called AnyVan to find out what on earth had gone wrong with ghe booking and why the drivers only filled 25 boxes .
Anaesthesia from the AnyVan customer service told me that they needed to investigate this and that it would take 48 hours before they could get back to me.
I was in tears with my head in my hands . I was pleading with them to complete the removal . Crying on the phone , telling them that I had been left stranded by the drivers who came in the morning and left the property by 1 pm not completing the removal. Anaesthesia told me that the only way to complete the removal of all my items on 5/10/34 was to pay extra money on top of what I had already paid, She quoted me additional £ £1300 for all of my items to be removed and to complete the removal on 5/10/24
I needed to leave the property .
I had a flight booked with BA.
I was in tears. I was desperate and felt pushed into a corner by AnyVan with no choice .
In desperation I felt pushed to pay extra £1300 to complete the removal on the same day.
Again AnyVan sent the drivers around 5 pm.
However , and AGAIN they were instructed to fill 75 small to medium size boxes. They were also instructed to come with a drill to take my bed frame down. However, they turned up without a drill. Most of them did not speak English and told me they were from Romania . I watched them throw my valuable items into the boxes , then close half empty boxes .
They also broke my bed frame.
I was devastated . In tears . To my horror , they left not completing the removal!!! Again leaving me stranded for the 2nd time on the same day after I paid almost £3000!!!!
I was completely devastated. Unable to leave the property !!
I also ended up missing my BA flight and having to reschedule it and pay the extra fee!!!
I slept on the floor that night . On 6/10/2024 I found an emergency removal company who completed the removal .
As a result of all this I developed an asthma exacerbation and a chest infection I am still recovering from. AnyVan removal company responded to my complaint by saying they could not trace my telephone conversation with Sadeeka/Anaesthesia and refused to give me the refund.
AnyVan company are underhand, dangerous and should not be allowed to be in business.
To date they have refused to give me my money back or cover the cost of the broken bed frame!!

I had a TERRIBLE experience with AnyVan due to misleading pricing and a lack of transparency. Before booking, I was repeatedly assured that my quoted price was fixed, only to be hit with an unexpected £600 charge at the last minute. At no point was I clearly warned that exceeding an assumed weight—something I was never asked to verify—would drastically increase my costs.

When I raised my complaint, AnyVan simply deflected responsibility to the driver, despite the fact that they facilitated the booking and provided misleading assurances. This is an unfair and deceptive practice, and I would not recommend using their service unless you’re prepared for surprise charges and zero accountability.

If I could rate 0* I would. Turned up 4 hours late. In a van smaller than promised. Was told another van would turn up, which didn't. We ended up moving all our items into the drive as we had to be out by 1, in the rain. They then broke untold amount of items: tv, units, boxes, sofa, babies cribs, chairs, and more. To which they tries to offer us coins out their pockets to pay for the destroyed items.
Now trying to recoup some reperations from this will take "6-8 weeks" absolute joke stay as far away as you can

I am writing this to provide a factual account of my extremely bad experience with Listing 9292532 (Seville to Brussels) to genuinely warn others about the risks of using this platform.

  1. The "Sales" Phase vs. The "Support" Phase
Initially, Thomas W. from AnyVan provided proactive support to ensure the booking was completed and the £450 (€515) deposit was paid. However, the moment the transaction was processed, this level of service vanished. My subsequent emails regarding the service failure were largely ignored. There was no attempt to support me in finding a solution and all reactions immediately went into redirecting me to customer care.
  1. The Breach of Contract
Five days before my scheduled move, the service provider Aleksandr J. (AnySizeR) cancelled the collection via telephone on a Sunday, citing simply that his "plans had changed." Despite this being a unilateral breach of the agreed-upon service, AnyVan made zero effort to identify an alternative supplier at the originally agreed-upon price. When I attempted to relist on their platform, quotes jumped by over €1,000 on top of the original price due to the short notice that came as a direct result of their providers last minute cancelation.
  1. The Legally Untenable Refund Policy
When I requested a refund of my deposit for a service that was never rendered, AnyVan issued a response that appears to flagrantly disregard basic consumer protection laws (such as the UK Consumer Rights Act and EU equivalents regarding unfair contract terms). The costumer care ignored my emails and eventually stated via WhatsApp:

"The deposit paid upon acceptance of a bid is non-refundable... the deposit policy applies regardless of any changes made by the supplier after payment. Therefore, we are unable to issue a refund. This decision is final... any legal escalation will be reviewed in the context of the agreed Terms and Conditions, under which the deposit remains non-refundable."

In plain terms: AnyVan claims the right to keep your money even if their “vetted” drivers simply decide not to show up. The deposit is, I believe, always 1/3 of the total price which in some cases (like mine) can mean that you are spending hundreds of Euros with no certainty on whether the services will actually be provided.

  1. Manipulated Rating Ecosystem
AnyVan maintains high ratings because their system is designed to hide failures. When a provider like AnySizeR (Aleksandr J.) cancels a booking, the platform's architecture makes it impossible for the customer to leave a review against that specific driver. This allows unreliable contractors to maintain 5-star profiles while leaving a trail of stranded customers in their wake. You must dig significantly deeper than the front page to find the reality of costumer experiences (on other websites) and once you do you will find a lot of horror stories that are similar to mine. Their choice to ruin their reputation over 500 EUR shows how short-sited the company thinks.

This post serves as a public warning: absolutely avoid booking via AnyVan, because your deposit is not a guarantee of service and you will possibly lose money for no services rendered; it is a sunk cost that AnyVan will fight to keep, regardless of whether a single box is moved, and regardless of the reputational damage they inflict on themselves. Their attempt of hiding this in their Terms of Reference does not change the fact that their policy is a clear violation of basic consumer protection rights and I will surely escalate this using legal services.
