Can I just say how refreshing it is to see someone (else) admit to their inadequacies. This is the sort of thing that I do too!

Passport office, and I think they charge you extra

callmeovercautious · 10/04/2008 13:30

Passport office - although DDs took 2 weeks via the normal route - depends how much of a rush you are in!

Don't worry they won't interview her

SheikYerbouti · 10/04/2008 13:31

Yes, PP ffice - where do you live? There are PO in Peterborough, Newport and L'pool AFAIK, there must be others. Make sure you get her photos signed - I adviose taking them on a digital camera and printing them with a really good printer and taking LOADS of pictures and getting them all signed because then you will have less chnace of having them refused. If you haven't got a photo printer, get them done professionally asap - it's not too expensive expensive. Don;t even think about getting the photo done at a booth (voice of bitter experience)

AmIWhatAndWhy · 10/04/2008 13:32

Fuckety fuck, it looks like I have to do the 2 week check and send which is an extra £46

BTW, to take the photos of DS1 and 2, I sat them on the settee with a white sheet draped over it. Those got accepted no probs.

MrsBadger · 10/04/2008 13:33

London, Liverpool, Peterborough, Glasgow, Newport, Belfast and Durham

AmIWhatAndWhy · 10/04/2008 13:33

I've got the photos already, I had them done at snappy snaps. That was the fun bit!lol

I've just been too damn lazy to sort out the forms.

I got the boy's passports this time last year, and they were back in just over a week (I did the cheapest thingy - mainly because I had 3 to get - 150 quid, robbing bastards)

When ddo you need the,m by?

MrsBadger · 10/04/2008 13:35

I took did the one week Fast Track service (£81) for dd and it was a pain but worth it.

AmIWhatAndWhy · 10/04/2008 13:35

We are going away early may (hopefully)

I will be in sooooo much trouble if I can't sort it out. It is a wedding.

Read the guidance on the photos very carefully -- especially the minimum and maximum mm allowed between crown of head and chin

Do you have a responsible member of the public who has also known your dd from birth lined up to sign?

Or will you kidnap a nice young solicitor off the street?

callmeovercautious · 10/04/2008 13:37

The usual route will be fine, just triple check the paperwork before you send it all off.

winebeforepearls · 10/04/2008 13:38

ah, yes, Snappy Snaps sorted us out too. After I had failed on millimetre count.

AmIWhatAndWhy · 10/04/2008 13:39

I'm going to get it signed by our G.P (another fecking cost)

Well I say I'm going to but when I get actually round to it is a whole different matter.

Snappy snaps were very good, they took loads of different ones, and told me the one where she looks very serious (and a tad miserable) would be best.

Same here. Both mine look like they've recently been abandoned

Still, their heads are the right size for Mr Paper-clip Fondler in Passport Office.

winebeforepearls · 10/04/2008 13:43
Hmm
MrsBadger · 10/04/2008 13:46

it doesn';t need to be a GP / techer / minister etc signing the pics any more - the list is reaqlly long
here
so long as they've known you and dd for 2 years and aren;'t family

tbh I am not on the list ad have successfully signed lots of mates' kids' forms

winebeforepearls · 10/04/2008 13:54

That's quite a random list, isn't it? Professional photographer? Not that I have anything against them but ...

elliott · 10/04/2008 13:59

journalist?

AmIWhatAndWhy · 10/04/2008 14:00

It is an odd list.

Do they think those jobs are somehow more worthy than any others?
