My husband and I have been considering a move to Asia for as long as I can remember, and we're in a position now where it could happen next year. My question is, has anyone done something similar with similar aged children? How did it go?
My main concern is my 7 year old, as my almost 2 year old will adapt to anything at his age. However, my eldest is really settled in his school with a solid group of friends etc.
Extended family isn't too much of a concern, as my husband's family live away and my mum spends half her time in Australia, so if in Asia we'd actually be closer.
Just to give some context: my husband works away and I teach FT, so the move would really improve our family circumstances. Husband would be home with the kids, the kids would go to the school I teach in (can say hi in the hallway!) We'd have a better quality of life and there's the whole learning experience for the kids of living in another country and culture and learning a new language. Plus free private school education for them.
I just worry about uprooting my 7 year old who is so happy and settled where we are now, in his home country. He's very outgoing and a social butterfly but is also quite sensitive...Would love to hear people's thoughts/opinions :)
