Hi; im not sure if anyone can help me; this is driving me insane and making me extremely anxious because i stupidly googled it. I received a note on my journal 3 days ago say “you will receive a letter in the post for an interview, please do not ignore, full contact details are on the letter…. I replied asking what the interview was for and have had no response, i called universal credit today to ask what the interview and letter is and they said they cant see a letter being sent out. Has anyone bas this before??

I had so many interviews which when I turned up weren't on the system. Drove me mad

If you dont mind me asking, What were the interviews for? I just want to stop feeling so anxious about it, i dont have any health/disabilities and i work full time so cant see what else i would need an interview for?

Are you claiming as single? But have a partner? Someone may of reported you or if partner has anything registered or sent to you address? Are you over the savings limit? They could of been notified of this.

Also minimum work requirements have changed recently do you meet the new thresholds? I'd of thought if it was a standard review it would of just told you that on the journal.

Mine were generally making sure nothing had changed and trying to make me increase my hours which I couldn't do.

Hi, i got the letter yesterday for an interview under caution, i closed my claim last August 2023 so that’s why i’m a bit confused as to why I'm being investigated now?
thanks for your replies

I'd say this is a very serious interview and most likely regarding fraud, was you claiming to be single when you had a partner? Working cash in hand? There has obviously been some sort of investigation happen and they now have enough evidence to have you under caution? I'd be shitting bricks. How come you closed your claim?

cwathol91 · 09/06/2024 10:47

we got back together in August of last year so I cancelled my claim then we did a joint claim in December, but confused as to why they would be investigating me now. No I work full time, no cash in hand. I am, my anxiety is through the roof right now.

Is the letter just in your name or has your partner got one aswell? A friend of mine got interviewed as someone maliciously reported her for having a partner (her dad did 6 weeks of childcare for her in the summer hols) so was obviously a busy body in her case but I don't think she recieved a caution letter, just an interview date thru her journal advising they discuss achange in circumstances. Reddit have some really good forums that may be able to tell you exactly what it may be if you give them the exact wording on your letter there's alit of people that work for the dwp on there if you type universal credit in the search bar it will come up

That’s all I did last night was google everything which has made me feel worse if anything. I’ve only got a letter just addressed to me at the moment, he hasn’t received anything. Wouldn’t surprise me with my neighbours as we don’t get on. I have 5 kids so that’s added to the worry with everything I have read. Thank you

Shit I think you need some professional help with this one, I think you can message the people on that link. Hopefully whatever they are suggesting you can prove otherwise. When is your interview? Does it say you can have someone with you? I don't know if citizens advice can help with anything.

cwathol91 · 09/06/2024 11:28

it says online I can get legal advice/solicitor so I’m going to give a few a call tomorrow to see if they can help me, the date is the 20th June. Could really do without this right now. If it is malicious report I will be moving home, it’s not the first time ive been reported for something but nothing as bad as this.
