Council house secure tenancy

So about 6 months ago, I finally moved into my Council flat (after nearly 5 years of living in temporary accommodation) So I've basically been told that for the first year I will be living as an introductory tenant and then after that if everything goes well, I will move onto secure tenancy, so my question is, has anyone been in this situation where they have been in introductory tenancy and moved over to secure tenancy? I just want to know basically what is the process? Do you have to sign a new contract or do you move over automatically?

Automatic, I believe. Congratulations on the secure housing!

Mines the same but was 6 months with mine, was just done automatically. Didn’t have any contact with them about it or anything. As long as you aren’t a problem tenant it’s just done automatically

@Marghogeth thank you so much! I normally get a notification if I've received a message from Mumsnet but I didn't receive anything and I've just checked my junk mail and realised it's all in there! Thank you for replying! X

@Mercury2702 thank you! That's great news and you're lucky yours is 6 months as I've been wanting to install a bathtub as I have small kids but they won't let me until it's been a year! Another 6 months left! X
