10MO teething - 4 teeth at once

our son has had his two central incisors for a good few months now. The past week or so he’s been quite unwell with a cold, and suddenly has 4 teething coming through at the top, all at once.

He really isn’t handling the discomfort well, understandably. We have tried Calpol and it seems to do nothing, however ibuprofen seems to work a little for him. We previously tried Ashton and Parsons teething sachets, but due to him being lactose intolerant he had such a bad stomach.

Does anyone have any other advice please?

I was told by a health visitor not to give him anything frozen as it’s bad for their gums? Has anyone else been told this? I just found it quite strange as I know a lot of people have been doing that for years.

DS1 has always had teeth coming in 4’s. Even his adult teeth have! The only thing that worked for him was anbesol, ibuprofen and the damp flannel I kept in the fridge for him to have a chew on.

Thank you for the advice, I’ll definitely try the anbesol and a damp flannel 😁
