Hello….
wasn’t sure what thread to post on!
just wanted to talk about over thinking and see if anyone had tips on how to break the cycle I’m in currently.
I overthink absolutely everything my mind is always doing over time and running away with itself. I have lists coming out of my ears and I just constantly feel that my mind is always racing.

im weaning DD soon so I have lists about weaning, foods to buy etc. I’m overthinking how to do it, when to do it, what happens when im out etc.

then im off on holiday later on in the year so im over thinking what I need, when ill have time to pack it all, making sure i dont forget anything, packing bits in the hand not to hold in case a suitcase goes missing.

then overthinking in general with DD, is she learning enough, am I practising sitting up enough, am I doing tummy time enough…

and so on and so on…. My mind just does not stop. How am I meant to switch off?
I really can’t just relax and deal with things when the time comes I have to be 100% in control and one step ahead. I’ve always been this way so it’s not anything to do with PPD etc, it’s just that now I’m so exhausted from having DD it’s really come to light how much all the overthinking takes it’s toll on me.

so (sorry for the long post!) if anyone has tips on how to break this constant cycle I would be so appreciative.

I listened to a podcast with Jon Acuff on today (The One you Feed podcast) and he was talking about exactly this. His new book 'Soundtracks' helps you to change the soundtrack in your mind. Bought it today too.
