Vinted - is it mean to leave poor feedback?

I bought some 'new without tags' jodhpurs for my dd which cost £40. They looked lovely in the photos but now they have arrived stinking of mould or something. They don't look as if they have been worn but the smell is horrible. Is there a way to get it out btw?

Would it be mean to say something on the feedback? I try to avoid mean comments but I don't honestly think I'd buy from this seller again.

I would open a case with vinted to get refunded for that price.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking tbh.

Open a case, but has to be within 48 hours of receiving the item

No it's not mean.

It's actually really important to leave appropriate feedback both for the buyer and seller.

That's the premise of the site.

I both buy and sell.

I am scrupulously honest about the items I sell (not everyone is) and take care how they are packaged and I really value the feedback I get.

Likewise I am honest when I buy things.

When buying I look at the feedback before I even consider buying so it's an important aspect.

It's not mean to say someone has mis-sold you an item by misrepresenting it's condition. It's actually a service to potential future buyers.
