...key fob like gadget thing that lets me log in to work from home. I have to find it. a. because I need to work tomorrow. b. because they'll tell me off and won't give me a new one.

inspire me with suggestions...

Coat pocket?
Foot well in car or down sides of seats?
Handbag(hiding inside)?
In a pot of stew?

car's pretty doubtful as I never take it out of the house. handbag's been checked on the off chance I put it there in a not concentrating moment. it lives next to the computer and occassionally comes downstairs to talk to my lap top but other than that it doesn;t move.

When did you last have it? Do you take it out of the house? (Coat pockets, handbag, car...) Do you usually keep it in one place? Is it in the fridge? That kitchen drawer where everything ends up? On a "safe" out-of-reach-of-the-children shelf?

In the washing machine? . I'm always finding coins etc tucked in the rubber bit.

Rolled off the desk? Under the filing?

kids say they don;t know. the cat just denies everything.

If you have a dd check that she hasn't put it in one of her little handbags. That's where our car key was.

it never knowingly leaves the house. I could have picked it up from its home on the desk to take downstairs and then got distracted - so bathroom's been checked.

floor behind computer has been checked several times and believe me it's not a pretty sight. If I had half a brain I'd do all this looking with a duster in my hand...

BTW as it turns out DH lost his a few months ago and he found it down the back of the desk.

no, turned the place upside down last night. it's gone. fortunately I had emailed myself some key documents so I can get on with my work, but it's a real pain to have lost it. dh is delighted because i won;t be tempted to work at weekends
