Wait till she's had her polio vaccination, as polio is a water borne disease - then, as soon as you like! The earlier the better to get her used to water, and it's such fun to get out and do something with a little baby!

Our local baby swimming classes say 10 weeks and over 10lbs in weight but the lessons are in extra warm pools. Your baby will get cold very quickly in a normal pool so take a towel to the poolside to wrap them snugly and stick to a very short session

thanks all. she is 6 weeks now and has her jobs on the 17th. dont want her to be rubbish in water like me. i cant even swim

One of those baby wetsuits or a sun protection suit is a good idea as a wet baby is damn slippery!
