Oura Ring import tax

Hi, I wanted to order an oura ring, but I keep seeing people being charged with extra import fees. Has anyone ordered a ring recently? And did you have to pay extra import fees?

Not Oura but my husband often buys things from the USA.

No matter what they say they're charging on their end for import taxes etc if your parcel is picked out as part of customs checks once it reaches the UK then you'll have to pay taxes and fees as a percentage of the value of the item being shipped.

Pre-brexit the odds of your parcel being selected as part of customs checks was pretty low. Probably one in ten or thereabouts.

Since brexit because customs know far more parcels can have duty attached to them my husband has been lucky if it's 50/50 on a parcel being picked up by customs.

You might get away with paying only what Oura charge, but be prepared to pay around VAT levels of percentage of the value of the ring to accept delivery.
