Moving - bucks/herts/Oxford

Thinking of moving to be closer to family (amersham). Could anyone recommend nice towns, with good schools, within about 30ish mins drive? (In any direction!)

looking for a 4 bed with a decent sized garden and ideally up to 15 mins drive to a train station around 800-950k

Haddenham, Thame, wendover

Check out Holmer Green, which is just off the A404 between Amersham and High Wycombe. Drive to Amersham or Little Chalfont stations between 15-22 mins, High Wycombe (Chiltern into Marylebone), 10 mins.

House prices better than Amersham and you should find detached houses with decent sized gardens within your budget. Walking distance to amenities, bus route and lovely country walks in a few minutes.

If schools are important, then primary options are very good, and you are close to a few decent state secondary options. Grammar school options for our children included all the Amersham options plus High Wycombe and Beaconsfield.

Remember Bucks has grammar schools and the secondary offer can be poor if you don’t get in.
