problem with ebay

i would be grateful if someone could give me a bit of advice,i commited to buy 20 sweatbands for my sons birthday party loot bags at 0.25p at acost of 5.00 seller said postage 3.75 but i didnt realise this was per item when he sent the invoice the cost was 80.00 i managed to phone him and explained i could not afford this and told him to cancel the order i also stated i would understand if he left me negative feedback but he has since emailed me for the money .I have contacted ebay about the
excessive postal charge and dont want to pay for said items or recieve them what will happen now? I am in a bit of a panic over this .

I would leave it and let him complain to ebay. £80 is an excessive charge and I can't seem them making you complete the sale. There is a section on Mumsnet for ebay related questions if no one can help you further it may be worth posting it there for someone with more ebay knowledge.

Don't just complain to ebay, leave negative feedback so that everybody else knows what they're up against!

just to let you know ebay pulled his listing and told me any transaction i had with him was void and i didnt have to pay i will be more careful next time .He had breached some of there rules so i can now relax but no sweatbands for party bagsthanks to all who got back to me
