It was brought to my attention a few years back about an entertainer in the local area who is of an abusive nature (this, I suppose, is "suspected" as I have not heard this first hand, it happened to a friend's very close friend when they were at school (14 yo) she was working for him at the time and the information was disclosed in a manner that leads my friend to suspect, intensly, that she was telling the truth. She told no-one else but her closest friend what had happened.)
I have only really thought about this matter lately as the man pulled up to our neighbour's house earlier and just seeing him reminded me of the suspicion. I told DH the story and we just sat in the car and waited for him to leave before getting the girl's into the house etc (it really shook me up, just knowing what I know and knowing that the neighbour has 2 young children too)
I obviously don't want to go storming in and kicking off and making a bloody fool of myself if it's not true, (also, can't imagine why he'd be round they're house as he obviously wasn't there to entertain the children, it just looked like he'd just popped by, which makes me wonder if they're related to him), but then I have my children's safety to think about and am not about to let someone like that wander our little village for whatever reason.
Has anyone else had any expierience in this matter? What would be the best way to deal with this?
I am aware that, as a parent, I am entitled to find out information on those who are in close proximaty to my children but he is not, at the same time he is a children's entertainer (so makes me think that, if he did what is said, he has not been discovered, or has not done this more than once) and I do not want him to have the opportuniy to do this again.
I'm very confused but don't know what else to do
