Need to park in Leeds on Saturday morning as close to the centre, would normally jump on the train but have to call somewhere on the way back, don't mind paying, if anyone can suggest somewhere please🙏

Are you trying to avoid the city centre car parks? They will be open and have space on a Saturday morning

WantOutOfRatRace · 15/01/2024 19:31

There's the 2 park and ride places

nhsmummmy · 15/01/2024 19:34

Woodhouse lane is cheapest.
Trinity is more central

Janey26 · 15/01/2024 19:41

Close to centre, I'll look the ones up suggested and find postcode for my sat nav which does have a mind of its own 😂

Depends where you need to be in the city centre and which way you’re heading afterwards. Leeds is atrocious for driving around right now, so many roadworks and blocked off roads. You probably need a strategy if you’re just dropping in and want to get out quickly!

Janey26 · 15/01/2024 19:50

Will probably be in Leeds for about 3 hours then calling at Sheffield on the way back,

Forgot to say need to be near where Harvey Nicks is,

Leeds is awful for driving at the moment, with so many roadworks You'll not get in and out quickly! You might be as well getting the P&R from Stourton (m621 J7), so you'll be on your way south for Sheffield later.

Forgot to say need to be near where Harvey Nicks is,

John Lewis' car park then, aka Victoria Gate. The NCP by the bus station is probably tangled up in the roadworks when you're getting out, but I could be wrong.

TeaandHobnobs · 15/01/2024 19:57

I agree with @IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads - the last time I had to drive to a central car park (eg Trinity) from the M621, I had to circumnavigate the whole of Leeds centre (literally 360 degrees) to get in. Park and ride would be much less stressful.

Brendabigbaps · 15/01/2024 19:58

I’d go to the Templar street carparks. 2 mins from Harvey nicks up the arcades. You can then get out of Leeds into m1 quite easily round the back of the playhouse

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 15/01/2024 20:00

Park and Ride. From Stourton, get off at Lower Brigate, and you're 5 mins walk from Harvey Nicks.

cossette · 15/01/2024 20:04

Parking in Leeds is expensive. To be near Harvey Nicks probably St John's carpark is nearest. If it were me tho' I'd park at Pudsey or Horsforth or Kirkstall Forge train stations for free and get train into Leeds - much easier imo. Parking at the local stations is free. Train will take 10/15 mins and they are every 10-15 mins.

BarbieKew · 15/01/2024 20:08

I’d do John Lewis multi-storey then. There should be signposts for M1 South when you exit. Or park n ride.

Janey26 · 16/01/2024 07:55

Thanks all, think I'll either do park and ride or John Lewis 😊
