Beckham rumours.........???

Hi just a quick one, what ARE the rumours on the internet about posh and Becks. I'm incredibly nosey and just HAVE to know, all I heard that Becks was giving a statement to deny them but it didn't say what they were??? Anyone?

Oh I want to know too - had a look at the paper at the gym, but not even a clue as to what type of thing the rumours were about.

They are apparently too mischievous to be repeated anywhere, Lizzer - the original site, Popbitch, had to delete all reference to them. And I think dire things have been threatened to any other site that publishes them. So we'll all just have to use our imaginations...
Although I'm intrigued too, I wish the media would leave the poor couple alone sometimes. It's not that long ago that they were living with a credible kidnap threat.

Um, as he's threatened to sue any site which describes them in detail, it would probably be the best for the future of mumsnet if they weren't listed here

Yeah I thought it would be worse than that too, thanks Lou33 even though you may be in trouble for slander - EEK!!! Hopefully not eh, Popbitch is brill but so full of elephant poo I wouldn't believe a word of it...
Thanks for the input guys. I do think its a shame celebs get so much stcik but then its, like, really interesting hehehe!

Now I'm gonna get blamed for closing mumsnet! It's all over the newsgroups though, what's the difference, and how can anyone be sued for repeating alleged rumours instead of stating it as fact? It seems a bit shaky to me, but pleeease take it off cos i'm getting v v nervous now. Also why would issue a statement onnews at ten to deny rumours, not saying what they were, and think noone would be interested? I still don't believe it's true btw.

Lou33, email them at [email protected] to ask them to take your messages off if you like. But I think you're ok as they can only sue sites that have officially made the allegations, on a site like this, with a noticeboard for members, the site itself is not making allegations. And as for us, well we're safe because we have freedom of speech. So if I were to say that Beckham has had a sex change and Victoria looks like a horse, they couldn't do anything as that would infringe my human rights!

Thanks Rhubarb, I feel a bit better now. Can you imagine how hated I would be if anything happened to mumsnet because of me?!

I feel the same way as you, I mean how can you stop people talking? And I did say it was all a rumour not fact.Maybe I'll mail them anyway though.

Well Liverpool are playing Utd on Sunday so imagine this has a lot to do with this 'rumour' surfacing now.

I have no time for either of them. They court publicity shamefully not missing an opportunity to get themselves in Hello! and OK! especially Victoria. I was shocked by the recent kidnap plot and felt sympathy. The next thing I read she is trying to take Peterborough United football team to court because their nickname which they have had for 80 years is the same as hers and she wants to be able to stop them using it!I mean who the hell does she think she is. And how can anyone in their right mind idolise a couple who earn close on 50 grand a week when the firefighters are being criticised for asking for 30 grand year. I'm sorry to get too political, I am just so sick of this cult of minor celebrity worshipping.And she can't sing!

joben, I don't think she wanted to stop them using it, just registering it. These things always get twisted. They are "Posh" and she is "Posh", but if one of them registers it the other can't use it without paying for it, and in fact they started it by trying to register it (and that was before the kidnap plot btw).

I like them too. Sorry.

I'm mostly worried about the death threats I shall receive if mumsnet went offline cos of me. Now i know it's a bit of a long shot that happening, but even so i might get my windows extra glazed, steel door put in.....
