I have no imagination whatsoever. We have a great box full of stuff for collage and crafts and I haven't got a clue what to do with it. Anyone got any good ideas, or better still can anyone recommend a good book? Children aged 4,6 & 8.

Theresa

What sort of stuff is it? Paper, glitter, glue, felt?
I'm sure I can give you some ideas, my dd is craft mad, she is really creative and I'm not but she cuts shapes, scrunches up tissue paper and makes pictures, the other day she made a beach using a yellow blanket and a blue blanket and had a picnic with her toy cat. Sweet!!!!!!

There are loads of websites which can offer you ideas. None of which I can remember right now, obviously!

OK, a quick Google Search later, we have Enchanted Learning , Free Kids Crafts , DLTK and many more.

If you are near a scout or guide shop, there are books in there that might help.

Have you tried decoupage? It can look really effective. You will need some boxes, chocolate boxes or something around that size is good. Find lots of pictures cut out of magazines - try to keep to similar themes or colours. Using pva glue, cover the box and lis with the pictures, it can look quite nice if they are irregular and overlapping. Lastly, water down some pva and use it to coat or varnish the covered boxes. Throw in some sweets or miniture soaps and hey presto Xmas pressy for Gran.

Thanks everyone, I knew you'd come up trumps! In reply to kkgirl, we've got all sorts! The websites are brilliant, I have to admit I tend to use the net for visiting sites that I know (eg mumsnet) and never think about 'searching'. Thanks again Theresa

Soupdragon - Thanks so much for those websites. I never knew such a thing existed! We have a whole cupboard full of collage and art materials and my imagination is strained to the limit trying to come up with ways to use them.

I have all the materials, all the resouces and not enough time or patience to do these things with my son(s)! I get SO frusatrated when they don't do things perfectly.
