does anyone just buy for their own children even if there are other children in the family/close friends with children. if you don't buy an egg do you perhaps make one or buy an alternative easter present?

Gosh, I've yet to buy an easter egg, but was going to get DS ne this year. Didn't realise it was the done thing to buy them for others too!

My mum wants a bottle of Baileys this year!

I buy for DS, DH, and as am going back to UK next week, have arranged for a cute basket full of easter chocolates for MIL as we are staying with her. They have really gorgeous praline filled lamb chocolates here, and a wonderful variety of easter eggs...Belgium is great!!

Gave up buying for nephews, nieces etc, as they never reciprocated.

Only buy for DS. Would buy for niece and nephews if I was seeing them but we aren't this year.

Have bought DS a bag of Smartie choc bunnies and a DVD.

Don't buy for anyone else.

mumblechum · 11/03/2008 12:42

I just buyfor me, dh and ds.

I think ds is supposed to take a load of little ones into school though so I'll buy some on the basis that he'll get some back and I can help him with them.

do any of you buy adults easter eggs? for example best friends, parents, partner, siblings, aunts/uncles, godparents etc? am i the only one who thinks it is just for children?

Don't buy for any adults. My Mum would prob like chocolates but again I am not seeing her so wouldn't bother.

I know my parents will buy for grandchildren but won't buy for DS as they won't see him. At least I assume so - maybe they will.

If I was buying anything for DH it would be wine gums or a Terry's choc orange.

bonkerz · 11/03/2008 13:25

will just buy for 3nephews and 1niece.
Not buying eggs for my own this year as DS and DSD want primevil on DVD so they will have that. My sister is coming up for easter weekend and we decided we would rather have a big family meal on the sunday with nice pudds etc so are not buying for each other or the children. TBH with easter being so early this year and eggs being £1 each we really cannot see the point of buying eggs!
My DCs still have chocolate left over from christmas and will be spoilt by the rest of the family so they really wont miss out!

Green & Blacks dark chocolate eggs for DH & Dad, Mum doesn't want one, Lindt milk chocolate for my sister from the children (she is buying them eggs but not us).

Damn just remembered need to buy one for MIL as she is coming to my parents for Easter Sunday (again egg will be from the children).
Actually the children should also get Dad one.

I have told DH that I have got him an egg, so he has to get me a nice one (actually I should have brought him the milk chocolate G&B one so I could help him eat it

Children have a load of small eggs I will hide in the garden from us/Easter Bunny

I will get one from DH & one from Dad this year, which is just right.

We have this massive call round with the women in my family to work out who is giving/receiving an egg. As it depends on who is on a diet or not

PrimulaVeris · 11/03/2008 14:23

Just buy for our own dc's.

As they also get chocs/eggs from grandparents and friends I think they have choc overload, so adults (ie our good selves) need to 'help' them work their way through the egg pile

nametaken · 11/03/2008 15:55

I never buy my own dcs eggs I buy my friends and family and they buy ours.

This is my first easter on mumsnet and the first time I've heard of people buying their own children easter eggs
