Tongue tie 5 months

so my son was 5 months on the 3rd.

He seems to have tongue tie. I’ve mentioned this to doctors, a midwife, health visitors. No one has ever seemed interested. I just keep being told that he’s fine, he’s gaining weight and is healthy.

his tongue tie actually caused problems with breast feeding, it was so painful I physically couldn’t carry on. He suffered with awful reflux, all the doctor did was tell us to try anti reflux formula. This has worked but I’m still so worried that it could cause further issues for him such as his speech development. It doesn’t seem to cause him problems, but will it eventually?

I want to pay to see someone such as a tongue tie specialist, but money has been a real struggle for me recently. I’m a single mum and I’m just about making all of my bills each month. Of course my son comes first and I always ensure he has a full belly and is as happy and healthy as possible.

does anyone know if they have an age limit on a tongue tie procedure? Or how much roughly it will cost please?

any advice and Information would be wonderful please.

If they can feed from a bottle it's not severe enough to cause a speech problem. My ds got his cut when he was 5 years old when he was already under for a different procedure. They wouldn't do it specifically for the tie. But yeah if baby is putting on wieght they don't tend to do much

DS had the op at age 2, I'd wanted it done before but they wouldn't touch it. It then affected his speech so I contacted the HV and after coming out to see us she referred us directly to the hospital
