We are looking at a couple of houses in the Cashes Green area of Stroud this week. Please does anyone have any helpful information on this area of Stroud? We are hoping to have our first child in the next couple of years. Is it easy to access the town centre from here? What are the local nurseries/primary schools like? Is this a family friendly area? Which areas of Stroud would you recommend for young families? Any areas to avoid? I realise we all value different things but we currently live in Wiltshire and do not know Stroud at all really (visited and went to the market once!) so any information would be really helpful and appreciated. Thanks 😊

Hiya, we’re in the same situation. Have you already moved? We’re looking to move to the same area next year. Let me know if you get any further in finding out about schools and nurseries.

We moved to Stroud in December 2022 from the border of Wiltshire. We didn't really know Stroud either, but due to the market at the time and probably our requirements we viewed well over 40 houses before buying.
I think Cashes Green is too far to walk to the city centre, but by car it only takes a few minutes. Pretty much all schools in the area are excellent. Our daughters go to Stroud Valley Primary School and I really like it, they give me the impression the head really cares about the school and the kids. Good luck with your searches!

@moony753 hi! Where did you end up moving? We are looking at moving to Stroud/Cirencester area. We have 2 boys 3 and 1 and live in London. My OH is from Gloucester so looking for a simpler quieter location to raise the children. Appreciate all feedback you have!
