How to get my life back on track

I'm a part time working mum with 2 kids age 5 and 2. Even with kids this age I feel like I'm still in survival zone. I don't have any time to myself apart from after the kids are asleep 8pm ish. Oldest DS wakes 5:30 - 6am so I struggle to wake before him and have time then.

I really want to improve my life. I feel like my whole routine is dictated by my kids and other duties. I fancy a career change so would like to study from home. I would like to start some regular exercise. But I can't seem to get myself together enough to do anything, when the kids fall asleep I'm just so tired and lack any motivation. I'm 41. DH is great but works long hours often into evening as he works with a lot of Americans.

Can anyone offer any ideas to help me boost myself into a more successful, thriving person ?

I want to add I used to be a lot more busy and energised before having kids!

That sounds pretty normal to be honest. I got my exercise/ walks in the evenings

Your children are still quite small and needy. It’s hard to find the time for yourself at this stage. You have to be quite organised and ruthless, and sharing the load with your partner is key.

What hours do you work?
What hours does your husband work?
Is your 2 yr old in childcare?
How do you & your DH divide up childcare and housework?
