Name changing on Mumsnet.

Out of interest do any of you change your names for different threads? I do if I think someone in RL might recognise me and I dont want them to know certain things about me. eg I know some mums at play group that come on here and I would prefer that they were not privy to all aspects of my life. I really value most of the advice I get on here but like not having to worry about seeing the people who give it to me on a day to day basis IYSWIM?

I always used to change my name for threads regarding my relationship problems, but haven't name changed for a while now.

I'd like to name change but amn't sure of the etiquette - picked this in a hurry whan I wanted to get in on the chat and feels stuck with it ! Bit worthy - everyone else seems to have such great names

i name change coz im fickle and easily bored.
when i get out more, it will bother me less and ill change less often.

I've really indulge my multiple personalities in here. I don;t troll around but love the anonymity that Mumsnet allow us to have.

I think it is a great tool but not too troll around!

I've namechanged as one offs when I need to post about something sensitive, that I would rather my sis or MIL didn't know about me (they have both been known to pop on here).

And I've changed my regular name three times in the time I've been on MN. This is my third and final one - I've finally found the name which sums me up the best so don't plan on changing again.

Unless the other mums from playgroup know your MN name, or unless you are giving away very obviously identifiable details, you don't have too much to worry about so post away!

I changed mine today... was really bored of the other one (chosen under pressure and not so relevant anymore). Not sure I'll stick with this one yet though...
