Morning after pill

Hey. So I’m looking for no judgement just help please.
i took the morning after pill approx mid afternoon on the 3rd September following very drunken unprotected sex in the early hours of the 3rd September.
I took the pill within 12 hours following.
for the last week or so I’ve been feeling extremely sick, tired, headache. But I have also come down with a rotten cold/?covid so that isn’t helping. A couple of days after taking the pill I experienced some spotting. And again yesterday had some spotting when wiping.
just wondering if these are normal effects of taking the pill or should I be worried that I could be pregnant?
my period is due in 5 days, but I am far too scared to test.
I am absolutely disgusted in myself that this has happened and just not sure what I should do next.

I know it's really difficult but try get through the next couple of days and then test. I don't know anything about you but if you are pregnant there are still options if that isn't what you want right now.

No contraception is 100% effective, even the MAP so the only thing you can really do is take a test.

I do believe it can disrupt your cycle so that could be a possible explanation for th spotting etc.

I think spotting is mentioned as one of the things that can happen after taking map. Don’t know why you are ashamed. I’ve taken it a few times throughout my adult life and did get bad stomach cramps each time for a day or two after. It does have a good success rate, but it’s not 100% and the only way you will definitely know if it worked is to take a test.

You did what you could to prevent it after the event. Don't beat yourself up. I'd do a test today.

Stop feeling ashamed. I had to take the morning after pill last week - we all make mistakes in the heat of the moment and you did everything you could to try and correct it.

Do you know when you ovulated? My understanding is that if you take it before ovulation it's very effective, but less so if ovulation has already occurred (or occurs before the pill can work). All you can do is wait and test when your period is due. Don't panic if your period is slightly later than usual, that's a normal side.

Hi, I’m looking to hear of others experiences with the morning after pill. I recently took it around 3 weeks ago, my period is 3 days late I know this can happen but the cramp I’m getting is really painful, I keep feeling like my period is coming but I’m only getting discharge and no bleeding, is this normal, should I be worried? I’ve never experienced a late period or painful cramps after using the morning after pill before

I’m having the same! Based on my last period mine is now about 3 days late. I’ve been having awful cramps and I’ve had some spotting and I’d say increased discharge. I’ve done 2 pregnancy tests now, one just being yesterday and both been negative. I just wish my period would hurry up 😭

The pill works by delaying ovulation, which means that your period is likely to be late. Don't worry unless it's over a week late (and by then you'd be getting a positive test if you were pregnant).

so I did the deed early hours on the 3rd September. I took the morning after pill that very same day, early afternoon. So within 12 hours.
I had what I thought was my period 18-22nd September. No change at all with it really do assume it was my period.
but now this cycle I’m a day late so far. Not really sure what to think. I am sending myself crazy with it all 😭
