5 I think

Says me who drives everywhere

WigWamBam · 04/03/2008 08:15

5 in this area too.

The drivers will tell you if you ask them next time you use the bus or train.

mehdismummy · 04/03/2008 08:16

think its 16 i know they dont pay before 10

WigWamBam · 04/03/2008 08:17

16 is when they start to pay full fare.

At 5 they have to pay half-fare around here.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 04/03/2008 08:18

i think it's 5. it definitely 5 on scotrail trains.

colditz · 04/03/2008 08:19

When ds1 turns 5, I suddenly have to start paying for trains, buses, and swimming

Yahboo sucks.

Ineedacleaner · 04/03/2008 08:20

Genrally 5 in any place I know of. 16 for adult fare.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/03/2008 08:25

Depends which type of public transport, and currently where you live.

Buses are currently free for under 16s in some areas, and I believe that this will be the case nationally from April this year.

This doesn't include companies like National Express, so getting across the country would involve several 'local' journeys, rather than a single coach ride.

I don't know the rules for trains.

Ineedacleaner · 04/03/2008 08:55

Buses are currently free for under 16's in London and up until 18 with the oyter card if in full time education.

The only changes so far nationally from April this year are for OAP's and the disabled.
