Help!!!!! Driving license renewal time

Hey,

We go away abroad on Saturday and my DH has just discovered his drivers license has run out so we can’t hire a car, which is essential to the trip and I don’t drive. What’s the quickest you’ve had your renewed license back?? 😭 he’s completed the online application but I think we’re out of time really.

If I recall I did mine on a Monday and had it back on the Friday although mine was done at the post office.

Could he get an international driving permit instead? After all it is just the photocard that has expired, not the actual licence.

This requires a valid license and the card says expired, so you think that would still work?

He went to the post office and sadly it wasn’t allowed coz his photo card is expired. We did not need this stress!!

Just hoping it comes on Friday 😬😬😬

I think you need a contingency plan as 3 days is unlikely
