Can I claim UC?

I need to leave my husband.
I've found a flat I could potentially rent.
I return to a full time course next week which I will finish in December.
I can work part time through an agency.
Student finance are unbelievably useless. My application went in months ago and its still not been processed. From what I've read UC will treat my finances as if I've received the maintenance loan whether I take it or not. I've no help from family or friends.
Am I entitled to anything to support my toddler and I until December/January?
I will be checking with Citizens Advice on Monday but wondered if anyone had been in similar circumstances.

Thank you

Yes, but there will be deductions from your UC for student finance.

What level of course are you studying that only lasts 3 months?

I'm finishing a teacher training course. I started it part time last September then switched to full time in June. I've to complete my 3rd placement September to December for my QTS.
Thank you for your response.

Get some advice from your university's advice service. There may also be a hardship fund you can apply to.

Turn2us and entitled to don't work if you're a student. That's why I asked on her incase anyone had been through similar.
I'll contact uni as well thanks for the suggestion.
