It is my nephew's confirmation soon & I'm looking for rpesent ideas. He has a very priviledged lifestyle & basically wants for very little. I was thinking about getting him something meaningful. Maybe a tree planted for him...thought about naming a start after him but it seemed a bit of a rip off tbh.

Has anyone got any good ideas please?

i think any of the gifts from Oxfam Unwrapped or similar would be suitable - see
www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/Browse.aspx?catalog=Unwrapped&category=UWGifts

would second Oxfam unwrapped, we use it in lots of similar circumstances.

How old is he, chocolate? The Lion Graphic Bible (not an affilaite link!) is great for older kids - Jesus nearly-manga-style - but may be a bit young for a proper teenager. Appropriate for confirmation but still might be quite fun.

He is 8 Flossie. Am still not sure that he'll get the thinking behind the goat etc IYKWIM.

Will look into that Bible - thanks!

I've given that Bible to a couple of 8YOs for their first communion and it seems to have gone down quite well so would definitely recommend.

Also, a non-religious present that I have seen really appreciated was a really nice pen - i.e. the kind that comes in a box - and smart notebook. But then that was to a boy that loves writing and reading and stories so it may be quite a specific taste

people will get him religous stuff - rosary beads bibles etc.

and even at 8 - i kkkkwould assume - even if you are loaded- its nice to unwrap a pressie that isn't plastered with jesus on your confrmation day.

i reckon a kite for £8 from hawkins bizarre is he way forward.

i am RC am not causing trouble - but poor kid - confirmation day is just pants

Being not at all religious myself I was struggling a bit with the bible. I really like the pen & notebook idea. Am thinking a kite for his birthday!
