Sorry if this is a little long-winded. At work yesterday, I got a message to say that my daughter had been assaulted and then arrested. It turned out her ex had turned up trying to push himself into her property, as he had their 1 year old with him. She let him in, an argument started, and it ended in him hitting her in the face. Luckily, she had been on the phone with her friend before he turned up and hadn't put the phone down, so her friend heard it all and got on to the police to report it, when the ex realised it had been heard, he rang the police and told them my daughter had assaulted their child, they came and arrested her. After nearly 10 hours at the police station, she was released without charge or follow-up. The ex won't bring my grandaughter back. Going back to the assault on my daughter, the police were going to take statements today so as not to keep her any longer yesterday. I was just wondering if anyone knew where the best place was to start. They both have parental responsibility, so I know it's not so straightforward. I understood from what I heard that when she contacted voice, they would help her with this, but this hasn't happened, does anyone have any advise? Tia
