Are you involved in trying to make a change in your community or campaigning on an issue that affects you and/or your family?

The Sheila McKechnie Foundation was set up in memory of an outstanding woman campaigner, Sheila McKechnie. Sheila was the one of the leading campaigners in Britain in the 1980s and 1990s as director of Shelter and Consumers Association tackling issues like homelessness, food safety and rip-off car prices. The Foundation runs an awards programme that recognises talented campaigners, who with help have the potential to make lasting positive change. Award winners work closely with the Foundation on a development programme that enables them to become stronger and more effective in what they do.

Previous winners have been mums Jackie Schneider (Merton Parents for better food in schools), Kate Griggs (Xtraordinary People), Alison Baum (Best Beginnings), who all set up campaigns after experiences that affected them or their children.

If you or someone you know is involved in making a difference put them in touch with Miranda at the Foundation on 020 7770 7892 or [email protected] or visit www.sheilamckechnie.org.uk
