We are considering signing up with models direct for our 6 month old. They want £140 as an admin fee for 3 years of representation. Money isn't something we have loads of right now which is why I looked into this in the first place. They say a job is typically worth around £400 but obviously that's if you get offered a job, if not your out of pocket by £140. Just wondering if anyone else has used them and had had a good or bad experience and if its worth going ahead with or not.

Don't do it. They are ripping you off. They'll sign up loads of parents at £140 a pop and no modelling jobs will come out of it.

A wheeze as old as time. Easy money for them as everyone on mat leave is poor and thinks their baby is the most gorgeous one ever.

MardaNorton · 27/07/2023 12:42

No. Quite apart that this agency relies on people buying representation, like a Ponzi scheme, if you need money to the point where you're considering this, are you really going to trot a small baby around to the baby equivalent of go-sees on the offchance he or she is hired, accruing travel expenses each time?

My cousin signed her toddler years ago. I don't know if there was an initial fee though. Her daughter got 1 job in a small toy advert, which I think was maybe £400, might have been less.

Cousin said it wasn't worth the hassle though. Driving to various places for auditions, paying for parking, hanging around all day, baby out of routine- to then not get the job. Babies change so quickly too- and I think they wanted new pics every 3mths or so- again, not sure whether they asked her to pay for those too. I personally wouldn't bother, because the odds of getting a paid job are very slim- if not impossible.

Whst agency is it? My children are models it's normal to pay a small amount as an agency fee but it's usually around £60. Also my children have only once been paid over £400 and that was for two days work approx £900. Normally they earn about £45 an hour.

Sorry I realised you said models direct no they are not an agency.

Below listed is tried and tested agencies recommended by various model mums and dads that have been seen at casting and continue to secure work for the kids on their books please apply directly to these agencies by visiting their website.

This.

I thought my baby was absolutely stunning, in reflection she looked quite like a troll doll from the 90s. Don't punt your baby out for extra money.

GemAshVil · 05/10/2023 11:30

Hiya, how’s this modelling thing going for your baby? As I’ve recently been approached for my baby too? But I keep getting loads of calls from different agencies which are all asking for registration fees, that I do not have! I need to find out if it’s a scam or not !

It’s a scam . Real agencies don’t operate like this
