Let me know when you find out. I've tried nytol too.

I know you're supposed to have the pc off and do something mind numbing in theory though...

Have you tried melatonin? I think you have to have a prescription for it in the UK but it's natural and worked for me (took a couple of days, but certainly helped).

This will sound weird, but it worked for me.

Treat yourself like a baby who has no inbuilt body clock ie every night; bath, pyjamas, hot drink then bed.

Do this initially when you KNOW you will be ready to sleep, then very slowly make that time earlier and earlier.

Reading in an extremly low light with a book I have read many times before sometimes works for me.

I hope this is helpful, of course everyone is different

I've been there. I have a small radio with very comfortable earphones. When I can't get to sleep I plug into Radio 4 or talkback. When I realise I can't follow the conversations any more I unplug and drop off. It's very good for these 'thoughts going round and round' moments, though be warned I have been known to wak at 6am with the radio still on and some very weird dreams.

I agree with Slug. I listen to radio 5 live very quietly. Usually sleep with it still going! (duracell batteries last for ages thank goodness). Another thing, don't come on Mumsnet too near bedtime - I'm sure it wakes your brain up!
