am sick of getting depressed re my size in some shops namely H&M for a start!

Jigsaw are good i've found, their trousers fit...anywhere else that has reasonable sizes? i.e. a size 12 isn't for a waif???

Monsoon are massive
As are East - I can sometimes fit into a small so they must be tent sized!!!

Agree that Jigsaw are good

I find Miss Selfridge of all places to be quite generous with their trousers.

Dorothy Perkins is quite generous as well.

For plus sizes Evans clothes are very very generous.

Think Next go up to an 18 or 20.

I second Monsoon. They told me they are normally half a size bigger than other shops but I got my bum into a skirt two sizes smaller than I normally wear.

I wouldn't generally try something that much smaller but I'd previously bought the same skirt a size smaller than I usually wear, wanted a jacket to put with it and hadn't brought the skirt with me. Assistant insisted I tried a smaller size and I was terrified there'd be this terrible ripping sound....!

Laura ashley has some big sizes - skirts seem to fit larger - but for me trousers seem small round the hip.

what size does monsoon go up to?

Cinderellascarrieg · 10/12/2004 23:14

Definitely Monsoon - have been preening self lately in skirt 2 sizes smaller than usual. You've just spoilt it, you swine! Grin

Not sure Evans cut particularly big but have nice 'funhouse' mirrors which make you look skinny.

Avoid H&M at all costs - I bought a pair of maternity trousers in there when 5 months pregnant, in size 22, thinking they'd do throughout my pregnancy, & could barely get them past my knees. I'm a size 18! Well, 14 in Monsoon...Grin

Monsoon now do up to size 22...but you can definitely lop at least 1 & probably 2 sizes off whatever you think you are...
