Yeah, I'm meant to be working on a website but can't be bothered!

SoupDragon · 19/11/2002 15:07

I'm meant to be washing up/doing the housework, does that count?

Rhubarb · 19/11/2002 15:08

How are the Clangers today?

SoupDragon · 19/11/2002 15:12

Well, DS2 has recently taken to grabbing the video and hitting me with it to make me put it on for him.

Rhubarb · 19/11/2002 15:19

Well, that's one way I guess! My little 'un is none too well at the minute! She was vomting last week and is still washed out this week. She asked to go to bed this afternoon which is where she is now. I'll go and collect her in 10 mins. I've got a Spot the Dog CD from the library so we'll see if it works in my age-old pc.

Tillysmummy · 19/11/2002 15:22

Ha ha Rhubarb, I am supposed to be writing case studies (yawn, yawn) and press releases and can't be arsed either !

SoupDragon, definitely ! Although you don't get paid for it so it's not quite so naughty !

Poor little thing

Last time my DS was ill (aged nearly 3), he learnt that it got him stacks of sympathy so kept saying "I feel sick!" for weeks. We caught on pretty soon though as he claimed that chocolate buttons would make him better (that's my boy! I thought)

SoupDragon · 19/11/2002 15:23

Technically DH pays me for it although he gets precious little value for money since we had broadband connected

Rhubarb · 19/11/2002 15:23

Hmmm, I'll have to watch out for that! Well time to get the poor little demon! Have fun!

Tillysmummy · 19/11/2002 15:29

SoupDragon, that made me laugh ! How old are DS's?

SoupDragon · 19/11/2002 15:51

DS1 will be 4 in Feb, DS2 2 a week later.

DS2 also has a delightful habit of smacking you lightly on the cheek if you pause in your story telling or fail to pay him enough attention. Bless him.

Tillysmummy · 19/11/2002 16:02

that's so funny. My dd is 14 months and has been displaying signs of terrible two's since about 1 month !

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 19/11/2002 16:05

Don't get me started on the Terrible Twos!!

Tillysmummy · 19/11/2002 16:07

I didn't know they started so early ! Shall we say my dd is 'spirited' !!

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 19/11/2002 16:11

Someone told me they peak at 2, not start at 2. I think the term "spirited" could be applied to DS2. And "stubborn". And quite a few others I couldn't possibly type on a family site...

Having said that, he's been asleep since about 2pm.

Tillysmummy · 19/11/2002 16:16

My god that's amazing. Doesn't it affect his night sleep ?

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 19/11/2002 16:24

Not really, he goes to bed at 7:30pm and is up by 7am. Sometimes we can hear him singing to himself for hours after he's gone to bed though!

To be honest, this is exceptional, usually he only has an hour or so as a nap in the day now but DS1 isn't here to play with him . He fell asleep in his highchair in a restaurant on Sunday - just put his head on the tray and quietly went to sleep!

Tillysmummy · 19/11/2002 16:28

OOh he sounds so good SoupDragon ! I envy you ! My dd would never fall asleep in her high chair, always desperate to get out and do the rounds !

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 19/11/2002 16:31

Don't worry - he more than makes up for it in other ways.

His speciality is "This woman is NOT my mummy and she's murdering me!" screaming. Very embarrassing when all I'm trying to do is take him home from nursery after dropping DS1 off there.

Bozza · 19/11/2002 16:38

Soupdragon my DS has just discovered the delights of videos. And recently tried to put a Bob the Builder chocolate advent calendar (supplied by MIL) in the machine. And was very cross when I removed said calendar. He has not yet discovered the choccie aspect.

SoupDragon · 19/11/2002 16:41

And long may he remain ignorant of the chocolate!! We used to have one of those video locks until we realised DS1 could put it on and take it off at will. Utterly pointless.

Well, I'm going to have to go and wake DS2 as I have to fetch the other one from nursery. My peace and quiet is officially over

Bye!

prufrock · 19/11/2002 16:41

I am trying to define my teams role. D'you think "surf the internet and take personal calls" would be an allowable description of what I do?

Bumblelion · 19/11/2002 17:01

I am also at work but have been "faffing" around with animations (ready to e-mail everyone with a Christmas greeting before they send them to me first).

At home I hardly ever find the time to log on, but at work I can always seem to find the time. Now I am working an extra day a week (Tuesdays as well as Wednesdays and Thursdays), I am even more hooked on mumsnet.

SoupDragon · 19/11/2002 18:00

Prufrock, it may be an accurate description but will do nothing for your peformance reviews.

I am sooo glad we didn't have internet access when I was a work (we had email and that was time wasting enough!)
