Another Ebay question - what if item doesn't arrive?

A few weeks ago I bought 2 items from the same Ebay seller. The first arrived quickly but the second has never turned up. I have been in contact with the seller and he despatched both at the same time. I have no reason to doubt him - he has lots of positive feedback and runs his own website selling stuff. He has always been v helpful and got in touch quickly about queries.
The item only cost £8.50 incl postage, so I'm not overly concerned - if it doesn't turn up then that's that. I haven't left any feedback, however, and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do about that. It's a bit hard to leave feedback for an item I don't have!
What do I do next?

No to both of those Sad Had ordered quite a lot of stuff over Ebay at the time and it had all turned up fine.

I sent my niece a birthday card recently with a cheque inside which never turned up. It may just be that the Royal Mail is inundated with parcels etc just before Christmas.

However, I would contact ebay if I were you. I contacted them recently about something else, and I noticed an option to click on about what to do if your goods haven't been delivered.

get the seller to fillin a claim form if he has proof of postage. If he's an experienced seller he will have. i always get them just in case the postal service is cr*p. this way he might be able to get the funds back and refund you.

I think that if an item does not turn up then the seller should refund....whether they have proof of posting or not. But this is just my opinion. I did offer that to a person once and have had the same offered to me. O f course this is open to abuse....
My weird situation at the moment is that the other day an time was returned to me by Royal Mail as it had not been picked up. Seller has not responded to email from me, nor contacted me regarding not having received the item, and so now what do I do? I don't want neg feedback....and I cannot leave neg feedback as I already left my feedback about the payment. How do you pay for something and then not care that it never turned up? This was from beg of November?!!!

Maybe he has died? Shock

I don't think so....as she has posted feedback at beg Dec for another item purchased......
But it is an awful thought!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to leave it another few days in case of Xmas rush, then contact the buyer again and see what happens. I am hoping that it will at least be returned to him if not delivered.

I ordered an Italian charm a couple of months ago and it never showed up. The seller very promptly sent me a replacement with two extra charms as well.

I think the seller should offer to refund your money, or send another of the same item if possible. After waiting a reasonable amount of time for it to arrive I think you should warn the seller that you will be forced to leave neg. feedback unless he does something.
