Moving from Reigate to Newbury?

Hi all,
We - myself, husband and kids (2yo and 6yo) - are thinking about moving from Reigate to Newbury. We saw a lovely property in Westgate Road, but were wondering how the area is like. I know that there is a really good school nearby, but don't much more than that.
At the moment we live in Reigate and we really like it, but because we want more space we are looking for areas where we would be able to buy a better house.
We would appreciate any comments about what's like to live in Newbury and if it's a safe place.

We are also moving to that area, we’ve found the schools over subscribed and are having to look quite far out to get a place, just something to think about

I don't unfortunately, I'm also new but I hear good things. We have found a school place about 15 minute drive out
