Constipation with kids!

hey im looking for some information on constipation in kids!! My mates son is badly constipated and he is really healthy can anyone help me out? Plaes thanks

Usually it's the result of not drinking enough or running round enough. Or sometimes holding on to the poo until they get constipated.

Orange juice can help.

If it has been a long problem (i.e. repeatedly for over a month or more) I would suggest she takes him to the dr.

It is quite common in toddler aged girls. As ADM said exercise and liquids helps as does lots of fruit and veg and fibre . Cutting down on sugar also helps.

If it has gone on for a while a gp can prescribe lactulose to soften the stools and if the problem is him holding it in senna can be used to loosen the muscles.

My dd1 aged nearly five was on lactulose and senna for 18 months and now is on lactulose only. My cm's son was on lactolose from 4 until 10y .
