Art & Craft ideas for toddler groups - please help!!!!

I have volunteered to help out at a parent and toddler group and now can't think of any ideas for the art and craft activity. I feel under rather a lot of pressure as the lady that normally does it always comes up with these really amazing ideas and I rather stupidly said that I rather enjoy doing this sort of thing.
Does anyone know any good websites for ideas?

How old are the children?

michie40 · 15/02/2008 14:41

Between about 18 months and 4 - quite a range really.

make masks out of paper plates

I used to do the craft table at our toddler group the things I remember going down best were:

Apple trees - cut from green paper with scrunched up red tissue paper apples.
Edible necklaces - licorice laces & fruit loops cereal from lid.
Playdoh - make your own, I can find the recipe if you need it.
Icing biscuits or fairy cakes - buy "value" rich tea or plain fairy cakes, make up white icing and provide dolly mixtures to decorate.
Making rice crispie cakes with melted choc.
Finger painting a hard boiled egg for Easter.
I also printed off the Bob the builder finger puppet template from Cbeebies website, which was very popular. They have some good ideas on there.
Making paper plate birds. Fold paper plate in halt. Folded strip of paper at one end for a beak. decorate with coloured feathers. (v. cheap from The Works. )
Printing either with sponges or vergetables.
