Arrgghhhhh - decorating problems....

A year ago I bought the wallpaper for my hall, stairs and landing from Laura Ashley. The decorator came today to start putting it up and after fiddling with one of the longest pieces ended up ripping it. This has now meant that we dont have enough paper to confidently finish the job and he has told me to go and get another roll at £16. Obviously the cost isn't massive but it has really annoyed me. Am I being unreasonable?

Blimey, I do think you need to have a word with the decorator. I would feel aggrieved at having to lay out another £16 through no fault of my own, and as for the towels! on your behalf

sorry to be bearer of bad news, but i was told you had to buy all rolls at same time to get same batch & therefore match you aren't being unreasonable - he should do a professional job & pay for his mistakes - even if that means getting several new rolls in my opinion.

if it's his error knock it off the end of your bill maybe!

and this morning as Im getting dressed.....he just walked into the house (he has a key cos I thought he'd be here after I went to work.....

don't stand for that! tell him you'll deduct the cost from his bill - thats outrageous - expecting you to foot the bill! cheeky b*stard!

by the way which paper is it? I'm an LA fan myself

I too have a gold LA in my hall - but its a bit darker and more traditional - if I was doing it now I'd probably go for a plainer paper but probably still gold!
