I have listened to 'uncanny' on BBC sounds which is amazing but have caught up on season 1 and run out of episodes! Season 2 is great for anyone who hasn't listened yet!

Any other recommendations please?!

Anything spooky about ghosts/afterlife etc would be great!

Thank you!

I've tried a few over the years and if you don't mind American presenters my favourites at the moment are Paranormal Almanac, Mysterious Radio and A Paranormal Chicks. All do cover ghosts but there are also bigfoot/ufo stuff that I ignore :)

I also love Uncanny but have run out of episodes! However Danny Robbins did another podcast in 2017 called Haunted, which is pretty similar. Trying to eke out those episodes now!

Is Battersea Poltergeist and Wytch Farm part of Uncanny? If not try those, also by Danny Robbins

Battersea Poltergeist is one of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to. The story’s great but the way it’s structured just pulls
you in so well. I enjoyed the Wytch Farm and Uncanny too (bloody hell, Ken!) but they’re not quite as good as BP. Still excellent though.

I loved Haunted. More than Uncanny.

The Dark Paranormal. And, We Need To Talk About Ghosts.

Wishona · 15/04/2023 21:31

I have a relative who is a known ghost 😬 I might try some of these

Shoelacesundone · 15/04/2023 21:33

What do you mean @Wishona ...your relative is a famous ghost?? What is that like???

Famous in that has been in newspapers and was known by people who worked in the place.
When DC3 was born I had the most lovely calm feeling. A sense that someone was with me, right before the birth, (this was in our front room). I assumed it was hormones…or a pain reaction…almost like the near death experiences people report or perhaps a guardian Angel 😊My husband was shocked when I was explaining this as he had seen a figure in the corner of the room. He had thought it was the 3rd midwife, before realising she walked back into the room. We joke it was my family ghost.

So it’s nice I think, only makes me more of a believer, so I find some films and things scarier!

Radio Rental...but of a strange presenter but the stories are good. One that particularly stuck with me was Laura in the Woods but love uncanny and haven't found anything that matches it.

partydownseason3 · 15/04/2023 21:55

Laura in the Woods has haunted me since the day I heard it, I still get chills thinking about it!!!!

Another vote for Radio Rentals.

BobGalaxy · 15/04/2023 21:55

Another massive Uncanny fan here!

I've tried a few different paranormal podcasts but the one I've really stuck with is Real Life Ghost Stories. British presenters, good mix of listener stories and famous cases (hauntings, ufos, cryptids etc), it's chilled and funny, and there's hundreds of episodes!

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 15/04/2023 21:57

I quite like Lore for spooky history.

Sorry the added birth story wasn’t asked for and sounds ridiculous! We joke about her visiting though.
It was a great, great aunt.

Nitgel · 16/04/2023 07:57

The uncanny luibeilt story was the scariest. The witch farm was too padded out imo.

Bbc sounds have a paranormal section iirc, I listened to a really creepy one about a sound recordist in a woods which was great.

2reefsin30knots · 16/04/2023 08:04

Luibeilt was great.

I felt a bit sad listening to Season 2 'the boy in room 3' because I thought that was more likely to have been the girl being aware of abuse happening nearby.

OhVicIveFallen · 16/04/2023 08:13

Snap judgement presents:Spooked is good, they were behind a pay wall but have just made all of the episodes free again. Basically listener ghost stories, some are really scary.

Haunted UK podcast

Paranormal Exposed, more about debunking ghost stories which I quite enjoy, very good from an historical point of view.

Ghoul Guide with Rachel Fairburn. She's a comedian who goes and does some ghost hunting. Limited series but quite funny.

Pleasing Terrors. Presented by a tour guide from Savannah, Georgia. Some genuinely scary stories. He has a lovely voice.

Ghost tales by the fireside. The host has a lovely brummy accent!
