Right, as I may have mentioned a while ago, I am being bridesmaid for my friend in August.

Her hen weekend is in a few weeks (6ish), and it is a 3 day trip to Spain. Originaly, I said I wasn't going, no money etc etc, but now I may have the money, but I need to decide now, because there are only 2 seats left on the flight.

My friend is desperate for me to go but I can't decide if I want to or not.

Oh and before anyone posts that I should pay off some more of my debts or buy carpet, I will have already done that.

I think the thing that is stopping me is that I feel a bit guilty popping off for 3 days in the sun when the kids haven't been on holiday since we went with xp in 06.

My dad said 'you can't go anyway, you are a mother'

It would cost me about £200 for flight and hotel, and thats only so much cos i would be booking so late. Their flights were alot cheaper. I'd have to get pasport too though so have to add that on top.

WWYD ?

You might have a better time with your children abroad anyway!

nutcracker · 13/02/2008 12:43

PMSL @ that link Lazarou

Right, I have made my mind up, and I AM GOING

The reason I have decided to is this. I will then have my passport, and because I will have paid off alot of my debts will be able to afford to get passports for the kids in the next few months. That then means that I can take them on holiday to France to visit my aunt and uncle, whenever really. All it would cost me is a cheap flight and a bit of money to give my aunt for housekeeping whilst we are there. My dad has been nagging me to go over with him for ages, so I think thats a fair compromise.

Does that sound fair enough ???

nutcracker · 13/02/2008 12:51

I think my friend has choked on her lunch cos she's not replied yet LOL

I will need urgent help finding a swimming costume, tankini or something though, preferably with super strength scaffolding included.

myalias · 13/02/2008 13:00

Great news........get yourself down to the post office and get your passport forms before you change your mind

nutcracker · 13/02/2008 13:01

Right, have requested passport form. Just hope I am not called for an interview with it being my first one

There is roughly 6 weeks before we go, so hopefully that will be enough time.

nutcracker · 13/02/2008 13:02

OP posts:
posieflump · 13/02/2008 13:02

I will be on tenterhooks all the way until the end of March now looking out for threads like 'exp won't let me go', 'can't afford a tankini', 'my mum is making me feel bad' blah blah blah

nutcracker · 13/02/2008 13:05

nutcracker · 13/02/2008 13:09

Wish my friend would hurry up and reply, she needs to book the last seat NOW.

OP posts:
posieflump · 13/02/2008 13:12

oh I assumed xp would be looking after the kids?

nutcracker · 13/02/2008 13:15

Well he might, but my mum is off anyway and said she would do it, so I am covered either way

OP posts:
posieflump · 13/02/2008 13:19

think it would be better to tell him asap! you don't want to have ahuge row the day before you go, you don't want the trip ruined by feeling all peed off at him

Kimi · 13/02/2008 13:22

Go, but if you are going you need to sort out the passport quick

nutcracker · 13/02/2008 13:27

Oh i couldn't give a toss what he thinks so it doesn't matter if he likes it or not.

If i tell him now he will be arsey from now until I go.

purpleduck · 13/02/2008 13:28

spokette · 13/02/2008 13:48

Nutcracker, I've changed my mind.

You should go. You will feel better for doing so and I think you will regret not going.

You only live once!

nutcracker · 13/02/2008 14:13

Thanks

Right, my flight is booked, however friend thinks now that there may be a problem with my passport as have never had one before and i might have to have an interview.

OP posts:
SlartyBartFast · 13/02/2008 14:16

kayzisbroody · 13/02/2008 14:18

If you go to the passport website here you can fill out most of the form on there and they'll post it to you
